I have a wonderful comment, and a serious question. First, I must report that taking Oil of Oregano when cellulitis flared up in my skin (this is the sixth time I've had it) worked as quick as the Cipro I've always taken in the past!
I was thrilled that this herb had the promised result. Because cellulitis is a dangerous infection that has serious complications if left untreated, I kept a close eye on it, and was prepared to see the doctor if the rash extended at all.
I have liquid Oil of Oregano, so I took five drops at a time in a glass of water, every two hours the first two days (which was too much: It gave me gas). Then I cut back to five drops in water three times per day. The rash receded within one day, and was gone in three days. I have now been taking Oil of Oregano for 11 days. I also have been wearing a compression sock on my affected leg to help circulation.
But here is my question: I'm still feeling the fatigue from the cellulitis. I want to kick this bacteria completely out of my system. I never want to get it again and I want my energy back. Is it safe to take Oil of Oregano every day - and how much? I sure would appreciate an answer.
Reply: Great to see you experienced positive results from using Oil of Oregano. Suggested Oil of Oregano dosages range from 4 - 6 drops in a glass of water, 3 - 6 times per day. While there are no documented studies on the most effective dosage, it is considered safe to use Oil of Oregano every day. People who are allergic to thyme, oregano or other spicy herbs should consult with a Physician before using Oil of Oregano.
