Using Oil of Oregano on Skin Tags

I have read that oil of oregano can be used to get rid of skin tags - is this true?

Reply: Skin tags are common skin growths that can typically occur in the underarms, eyelids, groin folds, and the base of the neck. Researchers are not sure what causes these benign skin growths, but some believe there may be a hereditary component.

There are currently no documented studies on using Oil of Oregano or other essential oils for removing skin tags. You can get products that contain salicylic acids (similar to wart removers like Compound W) that may help in their removal.

If you try using Oil of Oregano on skin tags you should make sure the skin isn't broken or bleeding before applying the oil. This will help reduce the risk for infection and irritation.
