Worthless customer service
by: Anonymous

On March 9, 2012 I ordered a bottle of Fish oil from Dr. Dave's Best. I received a few days later. I never ordered anything else from them. On June 7, 2012 I received an email from Dr. Dave's Best thanking me for my order and describing a current order. I checked my bank account and found that they had debited my account. They claim I signed up for recurring orders. I did no such thing. I never do that. Phone calls and emails have failed to get any response other than to say they cannot refund my money because I did not cancel 72 hours before shipment. I could not have done that because I never made the order and therefore had no idea the shipment was imminent. They also informed me that even if I send the order back to them after receiving it they still will not refund my money. I have never heard of a company that will not issue a refund if you return an unopened item. They kept referring to their refund policy, which is basically no refunds. The refund policy should not apply to a case of an order made by mistake (theirs). I did not order this product. This company has never even considered the possibility that they may have a mistake. I am considering changing my card because this company can not be trusted with a Visa number. Furious

Dr. Dave's fish oil
by: Deb

I bought this product and it was very expensive. I didn't expect to be burping up an awful fishy smell when paying so much for a product. I thought that was a sign of the fish oil being rancid. I am disappointed and cancelled my frequent shipping for future orders. Customer service wasn't too great either. I paid for express shipping but it took 2 weeks.... Not a happy customer.

Bad customer service

I feel that the fish oil is a quality product, however, dealing with their customer service is less than satisfactory. For this reason, I rate them a 2.

re: Review of Dr. Daves Best Fish Oil

Dr. Dave Woynarowski offers a pharmaceutical-grade fish oil. I visited his website and liked that he offers a Certificate of Analysis.

His brand of fish oils appear to be highly purified.

I compared his fish oils to Dr. Sears Omega 3 Concentrates and Nordic Naturals fish oils. Here's what I discovered:

Dr. Daves Fish Oils

- contains 120 softgels (1000 mg)
- each soft gel provides 300 mg. EPA and 200 mg. DHA
- cost $62.95

Dr. Sears Omega RX Concentrate (softgel)

- contains 120 softgels (1000 mg)
- each soft gel provides 400 mg. EPA and 200 mg. DHA.
- cost $61.95

Dr. Sears Omega RX Concentrate (liquid)

- contains 8 ounces
- 1 tablespoon provides 1800 mg. EPA and 900 mg. DHA
- cost $79.95

Nordic Natural Ultimate Omega Fish Oils (liquid)

- contains 8 ounces
- 1 tablespoon provides 813 mg. EPA and 563 mg. DHA
- cost $69.95

You can see that the Dr. Sears Omega RX softgel provides a little bit more EPA per serving at about the same cost as Dr. Daves.

One serving of the liquid Omega RX provides almost 6 times the EPA and 4 times the DHA found in a single soft gel of Dr. Dave's fish oil.

The Nordic Natural Ultimate Omega (liquid) also provides more than double the amount of EPA and DHA per serving, compared to a single soft gel of Dr. Dave's fish oil.

If you read my column on fish oil soft gels you'll learn that the majority of fish oil soft gels provide about 30% EPA per every 1000 mg. soft gel. This is very common and you'll only find higher dosages in a few select products.

You'll generally have to pay a bit more for the higher dosage, but you'll save on the cost per dosage as you won't need to take as many.

There are other fish oils supplements that may equal or exceed the dosage amounts found in Dr. Dave's fish oils; but you can also find that products provide lower amounts.

As a general fish oil supplement, I believe Dr. Dave's fish oils will provide a satisfactory amount of omega 3 fatty acids. However, for individuals seeking higher potency levels of EPA and DHA, they may want to look at using a different product.

Good luck and I hope this information is helpful.
