I believe I have an overgrowth of Candida in my body. How long should I take Oil of Oregano? Is it alright to take it everyday or should I stop taking it after a certain period of time?
Reply: Research shows oregano oil contains carvacrol and thymol; ingredients that are effective against E. coli, Listeria, Salmonella and specific strains of fungi and yeast.
A recent animal study shows Oil of Oregano may be effective against C. Albicans; the fungi responsible for many yeast infections.
The suggested Oil of Oregano dosage is a couple of drops under the tongue or mixed in a glass of water. This can be repeated 2 - 3 times throughout the day. Some people will continue taking the oregano oil for a couple of days after symptoms have subsided while others have continued taking Oil of Oregano on a regular basis to prevent further infections.

I have always suffered from yeast infections my whole life. I have tried so many cures from my drugstore and doctor but they kept coming back. I have used Oil of Oregano (5 drops in a glass of water) taken once every day for a week. The yeast infection started to ease off within the first 24 hours. No side effects. I have also been seeing a dermatologist for the last 8 months for an itchy scalp (also breakouts of scalp pimples). I have tried 3 different cortisone-based lotions but to no avail. The Oil of Oregano not only cleared up my yeast infection but also all symptoms of itchy/scalp acne! Just drinking the 5 drops in water once a day!
