My young daughter (10 yrs. old) recently came down with some patches of seborrheic dermatitis on her scalp. My husband has it, so I know what it looks like. She also has eczema in the winter. Anyways, I began applying the tea tree oil to the scaly places and rubbed gently to loosen the scales. I let it sit for 10 minutes or even overnight and then had her wash her hair in tea tree oil shampoo that I also had. Within several days, the crusty areas were diminishing, and within one month with treatments every 2-3 days, the areas are completely gone!!! My husband has been using salicylic shampoos and prescriptions for years with no cure. I had heard about tea tree oil from a friend and tried it on my daughter who was a willing subject. My husband doesn't scoff at my "natural" remedies any longer.
