Tea tree oil is the best treatment for head lice!

by Barb W.

My 10 year old son contracted a bad case of head lice from school. I was worried about exposing him to pesticides so I was looking for a natural way to get rid of those mites. I learned about tea tree oil and thought I'd would try it. I applied a tea tree oil shampoo directly onto his scalp and wrapped saran wrap around his head. I kept his head wrapped for about an hour and then I rinsed out his head and applied a tea tree oil hair conditioner. The lice were already dying when I washed his hair so I used a nit-comb to help remove the remaining lice. I repeated this process the next day and my son's hair is now completely free of lice. Tea tree oil worked great for me.

Tea Tree Oil is so much better...
by: Shelly

My daughter got lice from a friend and I think we caught it early enough to avoid a full infestation. I only saw about 3 or 4 nits at the base of her neck, but no bugs. I treated her with Tea Tree oil mixed with tea tree oil shampoo and olive oil. I left it on her head for about an hour with her head wrapped in saran wrap; a shower cap would have been good too, but I didn't have one. I then washed her hair out with Tea Tree Oil shampoo again and put in a leave-in conditioner. We used a nit brush to pull out any nits. I did find one louse at that time, but it was dead! I washed and bagged everything that was out and vacuumed everywhere. I dried the pillows in the dryer and I didn't see anymore nits, and treated my son, too. I will treat my daughter again in about 7 days. I'm continuing to use the Tea Tree Oil shampoo to keep them off the hair, as they do not like it, so I will just keep that as my normal shampoo now. Hope this works!

Praying this works !
by: Aggrevated Mom

Thank you to everyone for the advice...My girls came home after spending the night away and after a few days I noticed the itching. I have used lice meds and washed everything, picked out nits and I'll be danged if those little buggers started up again...so I pray this works. I will let everyone know...
