Using Oil of Oregano for Tooth Infection

I was told I needed a root canal and decided to try using Oil of Oregano to help fight any infection. I've been using 2 softgels of Solgar Wild Oregano Oil daily for two weeks. I decided to take it for at least a month or try higher doses as it appears to be working. Has anyone else prevented the need for root canal with use of this product?

First time taking oil of oregano for an abscessed tooth

I have an abscessed tooth and was given an antibiotic to clear the infection. Unfortunately I'm allergic to most antibiotics so I went to my favorite heath food shop where I was advised to take an Oil of Oregano capsules 1 x 3 times a day. Yesterday was the first day and although I do not feel as much pain I have this rash and itching, I am not allergic to basil or mint. I would like to continue with the oil but am worried about allergies and if so where do I go from here?
