Emu Oil is great for my greyhound dog's coat

I had actually ordered this product to use on my greyhound dog's coat. Her coat is dry and flaky and we live in a dry desert area. After using it on my dog's coat I started using it on my face at night and using it on my body after showering. I love the feel of it and it is not greasy.

Can I use Emu Oil on Dogs?

Can I use Emu oil for my dog's itchy allergy skin dermatitis. Also, can I use it internally and externally for my dog?

Reply:
I believe that emu oil can be safely used for your dog. This natural oil has been shown to have no negative side effects in human studies. Therefore, there should minimal risk for any side effects associated with using emu oil on your dog.

Emu oil is an excellent source of skin-nourishing fatty acids; particularly omega fatty acids 3, 6 and 9. These essential fats may help fortify and nourish your dog's skin and coat.

You may also use emu oil as a nutritional supplement for your dog. The omega 3 fatty acids in emu oil may help improve the health of your dog's fur coat and may also help reduce inflammation. You could also try using emu oil on your dog's feet to help soften and soothe the dry thicken pads on their soles.

Emu oil has not been shown to have any negative side effects in humans, therefore, there should be minimal risk for negative side effects if you give emu oil to your dog.

Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Emu oil may help reduce inflammatory joint pain, as well as skin conditions brought on by inflammation.
