Happy to read you got great results from using coconut oil on your hair. I use it whenever my hair needs some deep conditioning and moisturizing. I find coconut oil works better than a lot of the hair conditioners I've used in the past, and it seems to last longer too!

Afro hair loves virgin coconut oil by: Anonymous
I have natural African American hair and I was using Vatika oil which is pure coconut infused with indian herbs. It's good but my hair was still dry then I started using organic virgin coconut oil and this stuff is the bomb. I also use shea butter and my afro loves it and it's thicker and softer. So I recommend organic virgin coconut oil, I think it's better than the pure coconut oil - more rich and it gives a better effect and I use 100% shea butter as well. So those African Americans that want their hair to grow long and thick here's what you need organic virgin coconut oil and 100% shea butter and your hair will be long strong and thick and never dry. Please try you will see results! P.S. I love the health food store! lol

Love it for scalp and hair! by: Anonymous
I originally started using the coconut oil on my scalp to soften psoriasis scales. After many years using prescriptions - topical as well as oral/injectables I decided to approach things more naturally. I've used both the oil and the (Spectrum) cream for several months now. My method is this: Rinse hair with water and apply liberally to scalp and onto hair. Massage into scalp. Use a shower cap for anywhere from an hour to overnight. Comb through to loosen scales. Lather in shower with non-conditioning shampoo (Prell works well) using no water. Then rinse once and lather again. Massage scalp with shampoo. Rinse well. No further conditioning needed. My hair is 4" past shoulder-length and natural blonde - and baby-fine. The shine from this method is incredible and it seems to add bounce and body without weight from additional conditioning. Love the coconut!
