Answer to Using Oil of Oregano for skin rash
by: Kevin

Oil of Oregano contains a number of ingredients with many health benefits. Oil of Oregano contains an antihistamine called rosmarinic acid. It's believed Oil of Oregano has anti-inflammatory effects. These characteristics may help with certain skin rashes - however, not everyone is the same so try a small test patch on your skin to see if there is any negative reactions. My wife has applied Oil of Oregano to a rash and she found it decreased the redness and itchiness. Be careful not to use too much as the smell of the oil could be too overpowering. If Oil of Oregano doesn't work, you may need to consult with your health care provider to have the rash looked at.

Skin Rash and Oregano Oil
by: Fran

For two years I have suffered with erupting lesions all over my body. I have been to dermatologist after dermatologist and also to an infectious disease specialist along with my regular medical practitioner. They could give me nothing definitive. I was given steroidal ointment and antibiotics (which I didn't take). The ointment helped minimally.

I have been using oregano oil now for about six weeks and amazingly, the breakouts are at a bare, bare minimum; and the lesions AND scarring are disappearing. You couldn't possibly imagine how relieved I am because I didn't even want to go out in public. I don't even mind showing people my 'improving skin' now.

My case is severe, so I have no idea how long it will take for me to heal, but please continue using it as I, too, will continue. I am using NOW Oregano Oil in the bottle and diluting it on my own. I use it internally and externally.

Internally, I take it with the last few ounces of water in a 16 ounce water bottle (helps me make my daily water quota) and topically, I mix one drop, in my hand, with as much olive oil as my palm will hold then rub it everywhere. I repeat this until I am comfortable oiled down. Wonderful, wonderful stuff!
