Coconut oil for Processed Hair

I research everything and even with all the wonderful things I've heard about coconut oil I was reluctant to try it. The only disappointing thing I have to say about the oil is that I am sad I didn't do it a lot sooner.

I have dry, processed hair that can be quite unmanageable. All the years of dyes have done a number on me. I used Nutiva Coconut Oil I bought from a local organic store. I heated the a few tablespoons in the microwave and just dipped the ends right into the bowl and applied it to the rest of my hair by massaging it in.

I used the oil on dry hair and put a cap on and slept with the oil in my hair. The next morning I used my normal shampoo and conditioner and blew it out like normal.

I was amazed how one treatment did a miracle job overnight! My hair was so smooth and soft and health looking for once. It lasted all day and night. Personally I do two treatments a week but probably could get away with doing it once. I have since started using it for skin care as well.
