A recent study on Neptune Krill Oil and inflammation reveals that 300 mg of Neptune Krill Oil can lower inflammatory markers by up to 30% better than a placebo.

One of the principle causes of pain is inflammation. When we look at conditions such as arthritis, and other body tissue diseases, there may be an inflammatory component involved.

Traditionally, your doctor would usually prescribe an anti-inflammatory drug to reduce the inflammation.

Now while some of these medications are very effective, some people may unfortunately experience some serious side effects from taking them.

The Hidden Dangers of Prescription Pain Killers

bottles_of_pillsTreating arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions, usually means taking powerful corticosteroids or pain killers.

Some commonly prescribed Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) include Aspirin, Celebrex, Ibuprofen, and Naproxen.

Common side effects associated with NSAID’s may include:

  • abdominal pain
  • diarrhea
  • ulceration of the stomach and duodenum
  • bloating
  • heartburn
  • upset stomach

Now researchers in Canada had recently discovered the amazing properties of a natural marine oil that could effectively reduce pain and inflammation without any major side effects.

Neptune Antarctic Krill Oil Reduces Inflammation by 30%

Montreal, Canada – Researchers recently completed a study looking at the effectiveness of Neptune Krill Oil (NKO) on C-Reactive Protein (CRP).

Neptune krill oil is a specialized omega 3 fatty acid extracted from krill, tiny shrimp that thrive in the cold Antarctic waters. The oil is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids, phospholipids and powerful antioxidants.

What’s C-Reactive Protein (CRP)?

CRP is a special protein produced by your liver during stages of acute inflammation. For example, during a ‘flare-up’ of arthritis you may see elevated CRP levels in the blood.

This indicates there is some level of inflammation occurring in the body.

Other conditions where you might see elevated CRP levels include:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Lupus
  • Cancer
  • Connective tissue diseases
  • Certain bacterial, fungal or parasitic infections
  • other causes of ongoing inflammation

In this study, researchers conducted a double-blind study using 300 mg. a day of Neptune Krill Oil (NKO), or a placebo, for 30 days to what effects it would have, if any, on inflammation and pain.

Results of 300 mg. a day of Neptune Krill Oil show:

  • Significantly reduced inflammation after 7 days.
  • Reduced CRP by 19% after 7 days of treatment.
  • Lowered CRP by 30% after 14 days of treatment.
  • It was more effective than the placebo for reducing CRP levels.

Researchers concluded that 300 mg. a day of Neptune Krill Oil helps reduce inflammation and CRP levels. These effects lead to the patients experiencing less pain and discomfort.

While this is only a single study, the results do look promising for using this marine oil to reduce pain and inflammation.
