Using Coconut Oil with a Low-fat Diet

How do I incorporate coconut oil into my (very) low-fat, cancer-remission diet? I'm a Parkinson's patient too. But 1 Tbsp. coconut oil has 120 calories and 40 grams fat and the recommended dosage for Parkinson's is a whopping 6 Tbs./day. It's not obvious that I can substitute 1 Tbsp. of coconut oil for the oils I currently consume (small portion of nuts and seeds); I need these for the Omega 3 fatty acids.

If you're on a low-fat diet for cancer remission benefits, it may be helpful to get the opinion of your oncologist before increasing your intake of coconut oil. While there are anecdotal reports from people using virgin coconut oil for both cancer and Parkinsons symptoms, there are few published medical studies providing guidelines in this area. Increasing your intake of healthy fats, including omega 3 fatty acids may offer additional health benefits as well.
