Using Coconut Oil on Extra Long Hair

by LaVie
(Honolulu Hawaii)

I live in Hawaii (Caucasian woman) and have extremely long hair. I keep it covered when I go into the sun, use a shower water filter when I wash it, then use fresh Aloe Vera and Organic Coconut oil treatment to condition it. I have a lot of Aloe Vera growing in my yard. I will cut away the slimy part inside and liquify it in a blender. Next I saturate my hair with the fresh Aloe and put coconut oil completely throughout the hair. My hair tends to be on the dryer side naturally but with these two products it feels soft, moist and more tangle free than with any "top of the line" hair conditioner. Next I wash it out with a organic shampoo. I swear by it! I use to use Jojoba oil which is o.k. but it seemed to just sit on the surface. The coconut oil penetrates better. I would not be without it! ALOHA!

re: Using coconut oil on VERY long hair
by: Adi

I have thick, coarse, long hair (down to my bum) and I was looking for a natural way to condition it and make it shine. I used virgin coconut oil for the first time and I was impressed at how soft my hair was, however I had too much oil left in it so I had to shower again the next day. Coconut oil gives me the same results as many expensive hair products so I'll definitely stick to coconut oil from now on!
