Natural Household Disinfectant

One of the most popular uses of oil of oregano is using it to clean and disinfect your home. Oil of Oregano is a natural disinfectant. Add a few drops of the oil to a bucket of hot water and use a sponge or cloth to wipe down dirty countertops, sinks and bathroom for a clean, germ-free environment. This may be a safer alternative if you're allergic to harsh chemical cleaners.

Natural Mosquito Repellant
using oil of oregano as a natural mosquito repellant

Oregano oil was shown in studies to be an effective natural mosquito repellant. Researchers found the oil was more effective than traditional chemical repellants like DEET. A solution of 2% oregano oil was the most effective strength. Photo courtesy of Gabor Bibor
