I used to use a "shine" product for my hair as a "finishing" product. It made my hair "look" shiny and healthy. However, this product also had heavy fragrance (which I'm allergic to) and the list of chemical ingredients was very long. It basically was like putting liquid plastic or shellac on my hair.
I kept reading about the many benefits of Coconut Oil and so I decided to try some. I started taking a spoonful daily for the health benefits. Then I decided why not try some on my hair and skin.
Wow! I now use it on my hair as a 'leave-in' conditioner and it gives me all of the frizz-free, shine of those liquid plastic, chemical products and no horrible fragrance! It also protects it in the sun and snow.
My hair has become so soft, shiny and healthy looking -- I always get compliments. Unless you're doing a deep conditioning, only use a little bit if you want it for a little shine and no-frizz hair effect.
I recommend starting out with some coconut oil the size of a pea. Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you can always add a little more - but if you use too much at first, it might look greasy. If you do put too much in and you can wait a day, it will look great the next day (not greasy).
Just rub it between your hands like any other hair product. Distribute it evenly through hair and then brush through.
Great shine. No Frizz. No Chemicals. No Fake Fragrance.
Just the great, natural smell of Coconut (which wears off pretty quickly). Don't worry, you won't walk around smelling like a day at the beach. Although, a day at the beach sounds pretty good!
