Safe Use of Oil of Oregano with Children

I was wondering about safe use of Oil of Oregano with children. Is there a safe dosage of Oil of Oregano for children? Some labels on Oil of Oregano bottles don't recommend its use on children. Is this due to the burning sensation that can occur? What's a safe age for using Oil of Oregano on children with flu-like symptoms? Are there any side effects that can occur?

The information I've read shows Oil of Oregano can be used on children. It's use depends on the child's age. Here's some suggested uses from some manufacturers of Oil of Oregano:

Recommended Oral Dosage: 5 - 10 years old, use 1 drop, 1 - 3 times per day mixed in juice or milk. Don't exceed 7 - 10 days of use. For children 10 and older, use 3 drops three times per day in juice in milk.

External Use: 6 months - 5 years old, dilute 1 part Oil of Oregano in 4 parts Olive Oil and apply to the soles of feet and spine. Add a few drops to warm bath water with bath salts. For children 5 years and older you may use the oil directly from the bottle on soles of feet and spine. Make sure you dilute the oil for sensitive skin areas.

Side Effects from Oil of Oregano

Oil of Oregano may cause skin irritation in people with sensitive skin. Make sure you dilute the oil with olive oil (1:4 ratio). It's recommended you drink plenty of water when taking Oil of Oregano internally.

Avoid exposing the eyes, nostrils and genital mucous membranes to Oil of Oregano.

Infants and children under 5 years old shouldn't take Oil of Oregano internally.

It's reported Oil of Oregano may thin the blood and may increase the pumping strength of the heart.
