My home-made hair conditioner

by Lori
(London, England)

I have been making my own conditioner using: fresh coconut, aloe vera, avocado and unrefined amla oil. The result is amazing.

Ingredients: fresh aloe vera, avocado, coconut, amla oil, blender, sieve and a steam cap.

Method: Blend the coconut in a blender or food processor and strain with warm water, remove the skin from the avocado and aloe vera and add to the coconut juice and blend for the desired consistency of a conditioner - then add amla oil.

I usually leave it in my hair for about an hour minimum. You will see the difference. The comfort is knowing you are using products that have no added chemicals.

Reply: Hi Lori, Thanks for sharing your recipe for a natural, chemical-free hair treatment.

I've never heard of amla oil and further research shows it comes from the Indian Gooseberry. When used as a hair oil, amla oil is traditionally believed to help reduce thinning of the hair, nourish the hair scalp and prevent premature greying of the hair.

I'm sure many of our readers will be happy to try out this recipe.
