Inhaling Oil of Oregano Steam

by Kathleen
(Toronto, Ontario, Canada)

To prevent infection such as cold or flu that could be manifesting in the lungs could it be helpful to do an oil of oregano steam? By this I mean putting a few drops into a metal bowl and pouring boiling water into it and breathing in the steam with a towel over the head. Let me know what you think of this idea.

Thanks,

Kathleen

Hi Kathleen,

This is exactly what I do whenever I get a cold or flu. I'll fill a bowl with some boiling water from a kettle. I'll then add a few drops of Oil of Oregano and mix in a tablespoon of Vicks Vapor Rub. I let place my head over the bowl and cover with a towel so no steam escapes. I then breathe in the mixture. I find it really helps loosen a dry cough and helps soothe dry irritated airways. Here's some more uses of Oil of Oregano you may be interested in.
