Cod liver oil for dogs

(Anonymous)

Is it OK to give your dog 1/4 tsp. regular cod liver oil purchased at the Drug Store for humans. Is it any different than the cod liver oil they sell in the pet stores.

I think you have to be careful when it comes to giving cod liver oil to a dog that is manufactured for human use. If you look at my webpage cod liver oil for dogs you'll see that most cod liver oils are specially manufactured when it comes to use in animals. Some manufacturers make sure to remove certain flavorings that come in fish oils made for humans.

If you look at the ingredient label on Nordic Naturals Pet Cod Liver Oil for Dogs you'll see that the amounts of omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin levels are different than the amounts you would get in the bottle made for human use. I believe there is a reason for this and therefore recommend only using supplements created for animal use to be on the safe side. Thanks for your comments and please come back and let us know how your dog benefited from cod liver oil.
