Neptune Krill Oil and Cholesterol Study Lowers Cholesterol by 19%

Want to lower high cholesterol levels by 19%?

After reading this study on Neptune Krill Oil and cholesterol, you'll learn how this marine oil might be able to lower high cholesterol, improve your HDL levels, and normalize triglyceride levels without any side effects.

Montreal, Canada - Many people are aware of the health benefits of omega 3 fatty acids, especially those found in fish oils. These special fats are proven to reduce high cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

But what about Neptune Krill Oil? Is it oil just as effective as fish oils in lowering high cholesterol levels?

Researchers conducted a study comparing Neptune Krill Oil and fish oil's effects on cardiovascular lipid levels.

One hundred and twenty (120) patients with high fat levels in their blood were divided into 4 groups and took various supplements:

  • Group 1 - took .5 - 1.5 grams/day of Neptune Krill Oil (NKO)
  • Group 2 - received 2 - 3 grams/day of NKO
  • Group 3 - received Fish Oil (FO) containing 180 mg of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and 120 mg of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) at 3 grams/day
  • Group 4 - received a placebo of crystalline cellulose

The Neptune Krill Oil and cholesterol study lasted for 3 months. Blood levels were tested at the start of the study and at the end of 90 days to determine if there was any differences in total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, and LDL.

Results of Neptune Krill Oil and Cholesterol study

First we'll look at how the fish oil group did....

1. Patients taking 3 grams/day of Fish Oils:

  • Total cholesterol decreased by 6%
  • LDL (unhealthy cholesterol) decreased by 4%
  • HDL (healthy cholesterol) increased by 4%

These results confirm earlier reports that fish oils do help lower cholesterol and improve blood lipids. But wait until you see what happened to the people that took Neptune Krill Oil.

2. Patients taking 500 mg/day of Neptune Krill Oil:

  • Total cholesterol decreased by 19%
  • LDL decreased by 44%
  • HDL increased by 33%

It appears that taking 500 mg/day of krill oil resulted in a 300% improvement in cholesterol readings - and there was a huge difference in the LDL and HDL readings.

3. Patients taking 3 grams/day of Neptune Krill Oil also experienced similar results:

  • Total cholesterol decreased by 18%
  • LDL decreased by 39%
  • HDL increased by 60%

Based on these results it appears you may get the same results when using either 500 mg/day to 3 grams/day of krill oil.

What I find so amazing is the how much of a difference krill oil had on the cholesterol levels, especially when compared to fish oils. Now I'm not knocking fish oils - I still believe in the health benefits of fish oils and I'll continue to take my daily dose of pharmaceutical grade fish oil everyday. But after looking over the data, you can see some pretty remarkable differences between Neptune Krill oil and fish oil's effects on cardiovascular parameters.

Why You Want to Take Neptune Krill Oil:

  • Reduces high cholesterol levels
  • Lowers LDL (unhealthy cholesterol)
  • Lowers triglyceride levels
  • Increases HDL (healthy cholesterol)
  • More effective than fish oils for managing high lipid levels in the blood.
  • Caused better reduction in LDL (the bad cholesterol).
  • The lower maintenance dose of 500 mg. of Neptune Krill Oil showed more noticable health benefits compared to fish oils and placebo.

Comments:

Researchers concluded that 500 mg - 3 grams per day of Neptune Krill Oil may reduce high cholesterol, and manage glucose, triglycerides, HDL, and LDL levels.

Right now, fish oils are the 'darling' of the health-conscious consumer. But I bet it won't be long before Neptune Krill Oil joins it's marine 'cousin' at the front of the class as the best way to naturally improve your cardiovascular health.
